WKBT La Crosse, WI-NewsChannel 8-Public Service Commission to hold electric rate hike hearings Wednesday

The Public Service Commission of Wisconsin (PSC) will hold public hearings on Wednesday, November 11 in Madison, Eau Claire and La Crosse on Northern States Power Company-Wisconsin’s (NSPW) request to adjust its electric rates by $30.4 million or 5.7 percent.
When a utility requests a change in rates, the PSC conducts a thorough audit of the utility’s expenses and revenues.
Public comments on NSPW’s application will be included in the record that the PSC will review to make a decision. The PSC has the authority to approve, deny or modify the application.
Citizens are encouraged to attend the public hearings which will be simultaneously broadcast at the times and date listed below:

Attendees at the La Crosse and Eau Claire locations will be able to provide testimony via video conference to the Administrative Law Judge presiding at the hearing from the Madison location.
