West Salem's Elementary school principal settles a lawsuit with the district. John Smalley's attorney tells NewsChannel 8, the district will have to pay Smalley $140,000.
Smalley had sued the West Salem School District in Federal Court in Madison claiming they violated his due process by firing him without a hearing. He also alleged invasion of privacy in the suit.
The school district fired Smalley in January of 2008 as they investigated a domestic dispute and alleged extramarital affair.
In addition to the 140-thousand dollars, Smalley will also get back pay for the nearly four months he was put on administrative leave.
