With H1N1 in the area, Tri-State Ambulance is customizing it's pandemic flu plan to deal with the virus.
Tri-State says their staff is on the front lines of the virus and they want to make sure they limit the spread. They're reminding first responders about hand washing and they're starting to wear masks and gowns to protect themselves.
They say even though they help patients everyday, they're not immune from getting sick themselves. Jay Clark from Tri-Sate says, as everyone's work force is going to be affected by this, our's is certainly not going to side step that by any way so we have to be able to continue to provide the same service with the potential of losing 30-40% of our workforce as well."
And the La Crosse Catholic Diocese is also responding to the H1N1 virus. Bishop Listecki released a recommendation giving churches the option to refrain from shaking hands during mass and allowing some members to reschedule their confirmation celebration.
