Search teams are pressing forward in their effort to find a Jackson County woman who disappeared without a trace a week ago.
27-year-old Alisha Sidie was last seen November 7 at her home in Hatfield between 9:00pm and 10:00pm. Her ex-husband, Doug Sidie, says Alisha left her home on foot.
Thursday law enforcement took over the search for Sidie after sending civilian volunteers home. Jackson County Sheriff's Department Sgt. Patrick Labarbera says the search Thursday turned up nothing in rainy, foggy conditions.
Sgt. Labarbera says nine K9 teams and specialized search and rescue teams from across Wisconsin joined the search efforts, along with the Wisconsin State Crime Lab team from Wausau.
Sgt. Labarbera says the specialized teams will allow for a more "focused" search in specific areas, including the woods and water around Sidie's home. About 30-35 law enforcement members were involved in the search Thursday.
Sidie is described as 5'4" tall, abougt 125 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Anyone with information on Sidie is encouraged to contact the Jackson County Sheriff's Department at 715-284-5357. Family says Alisha was wearing light blue scrubs and a long-sleeved white t-shirt.
Alisha's sister Tracy says Alisha works at the Black River Chiropractic Clinic and the Sunset Tavern on Old Highway 54 east of Hatfield.
Tracy says this is out of the ordinary for her big sister, who is the oldest of three sisters. Tracy says Alisha has twin sons, who are two-years-old, and would have taken them with had she left for somewhere.
Tracy describes her big sister as "outgoing" and "fun to be around."
Jackson County Sheriff's Department investigators say they have not had any previous calls to the Sidie residence.
With his twin two-year-old sons by his side, Doug Sidie pleaded to anyone who might know where his wife could be to contact the Jackson County Sheriff's Department.
"Anybody that's seen her call, call the sheriff, call me, call her sisters, family. Anybody that knows anything call," Doug says.
"She's young, she fun loving, she's a good mother. She's great with the kids," Doug says. "We just want her to come home. Whatever happened we just want her home."
Sheriff Waldera adds, "We're hopeful and a lot of people are praying for her return."
