It's something no parent wants to think about, but if your child goes missing, you want to be prepared. All this week, parents can get free fingerprinting for their kids. Parents can also get child safety ID's, which are directly linked to the Amber Alert System.
Officials say it's a good way to help protect our kids and raise child safety awareness. Frances Bruder, from Davis Direct Marketing, says, "It's just to make sure the kids in the community are safe, that parents have accurate and up-to-date records for their children, should anything ever go wrong and they need to use the Amber Alert, or the authorities to recover their child."
You can get your child fingerprinted at Best Buy, Walmart, and Gander Mountain in Onalaska, through Saturday.
