Owners of a popular Fountain City supper club are working to get back in business after a Thanksgiving fire.
The fire broke out at The Golden Frog Saloon around 6:00 Thursday night.
Built in 1878, the restaurant has been part of Fountain City for more than 130 years and was recently renovated by the previous owners.
The fire destroyed the dining area and severely damaged the kitchen. Lisa Black and John Jaszewski, the supper club's co-owners say, "Lisa smelled smoke, so we went into the kitchen area and there was substantial flames so we called 911 and they had already been dispatched. You know to see that kind of history potentially going up in smoke, is very devastating. "
The current owners say it'll likely take up to a few months and hundreds of thousands of dollars until the restaurant is ready to serve its customers. "We are certainly hopeful that we can get this thing back up and on it's feet again and move forward. In the meantime we just hope our customers are patient with us."
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but officials believe it may have started in the kitchen.
