In just a few days, La Crosse's Riverside Park will be shining bright.
The mild weather has helped crews stay on schedule to get the more than 2.6 million lights up for the 15th annual Rotary Lights display.
New this year, the U.S. Coast Guard Emblem which completes the military display, a water shooting elephant and a trolley car.
Last year, 204,000 food items were donated and organizers are hoping to collect around the same this year. "Who would of thought last year in kind of the depression time for us at any rate that we would have that kind of record year. Not much at predicting but I think if the hearts are open as they usually are this time of year, we'll have a good year," says Rotary Lights President Pat Stephens.
Rotary Lights officially starts at 5:00 p.m. Friday in Riverside Park. It's open daily from five until 10, except Christmas Eve and Day when it closes an hour earlier. It runs through New Years Eve.
Admission is free, but food and monetary donations are accepted.
