
One person is dead after he rear-ends a semi on Interstate 90/94 in Monroe County.
The Wisconsin State Patrol says the accident happened at around 11:10 p.m. Wednesday near Oakdale in the eastbound lanes of I-90/94.
Investigators say 26-year-old Justin Lorenz of Roscoe, Illinois, drove his car into the back of a semi driven by 55-year-old Gerald Royer of Kane, Pennsylvania.
Lorenz was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released. Royer was injured in the accident.
The State Patrol says it is not known how fast Lorenz was driving at the time of the accident. The semi was traveling at highway speeds.
The eastbound lanes of I-90/94 were closed for nearly seven hours while crews worked to clear the vehicles from the scene and investigate the accident.
