Pet of the Week - "Ellie Mae"

ADOPTED

Ellie Mae is a fantastic, young Bloodhound.  She is 10-12 months in age.  This may be hard to believe, but she found her way to us as a stray dog!  Ellie has had an opportunity to spend a few days being fostered at a staff member's home.  Her report card was very good...she is social, playful, smart, silly, and overall just enjoys what life throws her way.  She loves to spend time both indoors and out...while outdoors, she loves to go for walks, romp around with a canine companion, or just watch what is taking place around her.  While indoors, she really takes the most enjoyment by simply being with you...being a part of what is going on.  One item to note...Ellie Mae has a little baggage...not the serious kind, but also not for the faint at heart...she is quite the slobbery girl.  Ellie Mae is gentle and silly, making her a nice match for homes if they have children.  However, she is still growing and has not quite figured out that she is a large girl whose body weight is quite strong...she throws her arms around while playing and for some children this might be a bit much.  It will be best for children to meet and interact with her.  Ellie Mae loves to play with other dogs and seems to be respectful of cats.  Again, she may be a bit much for the shy or laid back dog, so it is imperative for resident dogs of any interested adopter to meet her.  Ellie Mae will do best in a home that can offer her a fenced in yard.  An invisible fence has been tried with her and she does not seem to be phased by this at all...with her Hound nose possible leading her astray, again, containment will be important.
