Authorities are searching for the person who robbed a Stoddard bank Friday morning.
Vernon County Sheriff's Department Chief Deputy Jim Hanson says the robbery happened at River Bank at 145 Main Street in Stoddard at around 10:30 a.m.
Hanson says the suspect did not show a weapon, but instead passed a note to a teller demanding money.
The suspect got away with about $5,000. There were about six people in the bank at the time of the robbery, but no one was hurt.
Investigators are talking to witnesses to find out more about the suspect, who they say is a white male, about 5'10" between 25 and 30 years old.
Hanson says the FBI is now handling the investigation.
